What online participants say about their online class experience...

The UConn Online Masters Course has completely changed the way that I teach. What I have learned through the coursework and through attending Confratute has enabled me to drastically improve my teaching techniques. I look at content and deliver in a totally different way. Instead of focusing on what I teach, I now focus on who and how I teach. I have benefited by gaining a renewed enthusiasm for teaching. However that gain is minor compared to the benefit that has been afforded my students. They have been the recipients of thoughtful instruction, based on innovative and creative instructional techniques that I learned in this program. I can’t articulate adequately all of the good that has come from these courses.
- Gail Greaney

"I went to Confratute looking for a way to bring about a good change for our school site, and l left with a plan to bring about a change in myself (the Online Master's Program) that will... untimately benefit the students I teach...the high level of expertise and commitment toward gifted education I observed among the Confratute 2005 presenters and strand coordinators leads me to believe that the University of Connecticut has the best program to meet my needs and, indirectly, the needs of the students I teach."
-- California

"I've just been amazed at how helpful everyone has been during my experience--from the financial aid office to registration to professors. It's truly been, and continues to be, a positive expereicne all the way around." --H.A.

"My class was very well organized, included thought-provoking interaction between teachers and students, as well as stimulating readings, articles, and assignments with a real-world purpose. I was repeatedly struck by the amount of individualized attention that I was given as a student. The instructors provided detailed, reflective feedback on my assignments. It was obvious they put a lot of time and thought into their helpful responses to my work."

"The Readings in Gifted Education (Critical Issues) class sparked many lively discussions between myself and other classmates. The articles were relevant to my teaching situation and I often referred to them in discussion with parents, teachers, and administrators. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to stay current with important issues that effect not only our gifted children but also our gifted programs."
