Del Siegle is a professor and head of the Educational Psychology Department in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut where he was honored as a teaching fellow. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Del worked as a gifted and talented coordinator in Montana and is a president of Montana AGATE (Association of Gifted and Talented Education). He is also past president of the National Association of Gifted Children and served on the board of directors of The Association for the Gifted (CEC-TAG). Is is chair-elect of the Research on Giftedness, Creativity, and Talent SIG of AERA. He is co-editor of Gifted Child Quarterly and past co-editor of the Journal of Advanced Academics. He authors a technology column for Gifted Child Today. Del joined Gary Davis and Sylvia Rimm as authors of the sixth edition of the popular textbook, Education of the Gifted and Talented. He recently published The Underachieving Gifted Child: Recognizing, Understanding, & Reversing Underachievement with Prufrock Press. Dels research interests include web-based instruction, motivation of gifted students, and teacher bias in the identification of students for gifted programs. |
