Description:

This district has recognized the needs of gifted students and has been providing services to this population for over twenty years. The previous program placed an emphasis on pullout options for the identified population, which totaled approximately 40 students per grade. The school system is in transition and has begun the process of blending "the old pullout paradigm" with services for all students. The strategic plan calls for all students to have opportunities to work as practicing professionals in the various academic fields. The emphasis is on designing curriculum that focuses on inquiry, problem solving, and product development.
